Recommended Media Players

On most types of computers and other devices, Blindy TV will automatically play with the built-in media playback capabilities. In many cases, though, you can have a better experience listening to Blindy TV if you have a dedicated media player app. The pages below have suggestions for media players on different devices.

Winamp is a long-time favorite of many screen reader users on Windows. It will correctly open the Blindy TV playlist, as well as display information about the current show.

Foobar2000 is another popular and accessible player that works with the Blindy TV playlist and displays show information. Additionally, with Foobar2000, the channels are displayed in a list, so that you can arrow through them in order to quickly switch channels.

Clicking the Listen links in Safari will open the built-in audio player. However, the built-in player will not be able to change channels, and it will not display information about the current show.

TuneIn Radio

TuneIn Radio is a popular streaming player. It will correctly display show information, even on the lock screen. You can also use the iPod controls on your headset to pause the show, as well as skipp back and forward. It won't, however, work with playlists. If you use it, you'll need to manually enter the URL of each channel as a favorite.

TO enter custom favorites in Tune-In Radio, switch to the Favorites tab, scroll to the bottom of the list, and select "Add new custom URL". On the next screen, enter the channel's URL from our URL List page. If you enter the URL correctly, it will appear above the keyboard. Select the displayed URL above the keyboard, and the channel should start to play. To save the channel as a favorite, use the button at the top right of the screen.
